Removing Flex Disc can be messy but please know it does get easier the more you do it. That said, you will always get a little period blood on your hands. Most users claim that all the benefits that the disc provides make the removal process well worth it.
Here are some tips + tricks we've learned from customers like you to help make removal and disposal a little easier.
1. Carry disposable gloves. This is probably the most popular because you can avoid a mess on your hands. Once the disc is removed, all you need to do is wrap the glove inside-out over the disc and toss the whole thing away. Great for home, public restrooms, traveling, wherever you gotta go. Zero mess!
2. Baby wipes. These are helpful if you're concerned about some period blood getting on your bikini area and can also help with wiping your hands. Love these for home use but they can also be helpful when you're out in public. You can also wrap the disc in the wipe then toss.
3. The wrapper. If you remember to keep the wrapper, you can empty the disc in the toilet, put the used disc in the wrapper, then dispose.
4. Just wrap it up in toilet paper. Then toss.
More than anything else, go slow. Allow yourself to take some extra time to go slow and steady when you remove your disc - keeping it parallel to the ground. The slower you go, the less mess there is during removal. You can then empty the contents in the toilet and toss.
Timing is another factor. Finding a good routine with your FLEX can make removal less stressful too. Many users will time their removal based on when they'll be getting home from work and/or their shower routine. You may also find that you don't need to insert a new disc right away. Some users are able to wait a couple hours before inserting their next disc.
