1. Relax and find a comfortable position.
One of the key components to removing any period product is relaxation - if you tense up, your body will hold the disc in place which could make removal a little difficult. -
2. "Push" down gently on your pelvic floor.
Like you're pooping! (Don't worry, you won't actually poop.) This will help pop the disc out from behind the pubic bone.
3. Hook the disc while pushing down
There are a couple ways you can hook the disc. For many people, the easiest way to hook the disc is from under black rim in "come here" motion and pull À la, Brittney Spears in the "Toxic" vid. Be sure to keep the disc horizontal.
Another great way to hook the rim for removal is by hooking over the disc as shown below. With this method, you'll want to push your finger up over the rim by creating space between the rim and your pubic bone. Imagine you're reaching for a light switch you need to flip down. Don't be afraid to get in there either (gently of course)!
4. Pull + empty
You've hooked the disc, now slooooowly pull until it's at the entrance of your vagina. Remove the rest of the way, empty the contents into the toilet and you're all done! Place Flex in the wrapper if you still have it and dispose in the trash bin. You can insert a new disc after you've removed and discarded your used disc. Just be sure to wash your hands in between. Some users will remove with one hand and insert with another when they're in a hurry (or in a public restroom).
