Basic Care
Always boil your cup before and after your period for 10 mins in a large pot, while giving it a good stir from time to time. Make sure that it does not come in contact with the sides, or bottom of the pot as that could melt the silicone. In other words, keep an eye on it like it’s your drunk friend at a bar; protect it, and have its back like it's got yours! (Ps, we’re talkin’ to cup vets and newbies alike, it’s always great to boil your Flex Cup to make sure it is properly sanitized for the sake of its longevity and your vaginal health.) #ProtectYourP
When at home
We recommend emptying the contents into the toilet when it’s removed. Then, unthread the ReleaseRing and rinse your Flex Cup with cold water. With a few generous pumps of our Foaming Cup Wash, thoroughly clean the entire cup, especially the air holes at the top. Rinse well with warm water and allow the cup to dry before reinserting for at least 20 seconds.
Pro-tip: to clean the inside of your cup, fill it with soapy water and place a palm over the opening. Swish that around for a minute or two making sure that water runs through the air holes located on the top of your cup.
When on the go
Personally, we’re up for strutting to the sink with pride (#beforetimes) BUT if you’re not bold enough or can’t make it to one, we've got you covered. With our Biodegradable Cup Wipes, you can wipe down your cup until you have a chance to properly wash it (you can also opt to bring a water bottle into the stall to give your cup a quick rinse before reinserting it.) Then go on about your day! You did it, we love you.
